“I have long been sceptical about the use of Nuclear Power, but the Green Party’s own plans for reaching zero carbon rely on our continued use of it. So, I really want to understand how we can do that in as safe and effective a way as possible. I don’t have all the answers to this, and I remain open minded, but we desperately need to have the debate and it needs to be based on real world experience and robust evidence. The time for wishful thinking is over – we need to understand the role that nuclear power can play in achieving a zero carbon energy sector. GFNE have brought a huge amount of useful evidence and clear thinking to this debate and I really want to hear what more they have to say.”
